HVNT (pronounced HUNT) is a digital treasure hunt app that lets its players go on an adventure and explore their cities or local areas using the latest augmented reality and geo-location technologies. Our goal is to spark creative and engaging journeys in the real world blended with the latest technology. Our products are designed to inspire outdoor adventure, exercise, education, and meaningful interaction.

Yes! By participating in either the Open World seasons or Competitions you are eligible to win a prize depending on your final score. The prizes vary depending on the difficulty, time limit, season, & the number of users participating.

Whoever finishes a season or competition with the required score, or the high score, will win a prize. To determine who wins we take a number of factors into consideration, primarily success rate in terms of artefacts collected in Open World, challenges completed, time between checkpoints, and overall time it took to complete a whole Competition. HVNT retains the right to dismiss any cheaters from being eligible for prizes.

For the best experience we recommend you allow HVNT to track your location and send notifications when the app is in the background, this is to optimize your experience by enabling us to send you notifications whenever you're in an area of interest or a new competition/season is available. Get started early in the season of Open World to maximize the number of artefacts you can collect. Finally, we also recommend users to re-play Competitions before their event timer runs out to increase your final score. Remember to check the leaderboards frequently to keep track of the competition!

Different Competitions have different lengths by the number of checkpoints so that our players have more options to choose in terms of time, area, distance, and of course potential prizes, all to provide the players with a choice. The time required to complete the Competition depends on its difficulty. Easier Competitions can be completed in one quick session while the more difficult ones might require an investment of time and several re-plays. Open World works by announcing winners at the end of each of its predetermined seasons. Seasons vary in length depending on several factors, such as prizes offered or player interest.

As of now (Dec 2022) Open World is available anywhere in Sweden, and HVNT's competitions can only be played in Stockholm, Gothenburg & Malmo with some additional surrounding areas. We do hope to expand further soon beyond Sweden's borders as we intend to expand internationally as soon as possible. If you want HVNT's Competitions to be available in your city/area/country, please let us know by emailing us at hello@hvnt.com and we will make sure to take it into the consideration.

HVNT always encourages users to play together as venturing out to HVNT is an experience best shared with friends. However, currently, we do not have any multiplayer team or group play function. Our goal is to offer a multiplayer mode by Q2 2022.

Pro tip: In competitions, play on one phone with your friend and use the second phone to quickly search the web to find the next checkpoint faster which will earn you even more points!

iOS: HVNT can be played on iPhone 6 and later running iOS 14.1 or later. However, for the best experience we recommend always updating to the latest OS and to have the the latest version of iPhone with the LidAR sensor, this will dramatically improve your experience. If you do not have an iPhone with a LidAR sensor, please keep a lookout in the app, there might be one as a prize coming up shortly.

Android: HVNT is available on any android phone running Android OS 9 or later. However, for the best experience we recommend always updating to the latest OS and have the latest version of the phone as this will dramatically improve your experience.

You're more than welcome to use a tablet of your choice to play HVNT. However, please be advised that HVNT is optimized for phones built in 2019 or later so please be advised that your experience will not be perfect on a tablet.

Yes. In order to play you will need to use mobile data or connect to Wi-Fi (however for best experience we do not recommend using a fixed Wi-Fi as this can impact your experience). HVNT recommends users playing in areas with strong 5G access as this provides the best experience and GPS calibration.

Short answer, no. We don't to charge you anything to play HVNT by default. However, in some cases, there will be an entry fee to a specific Competition in order to help us fund the Prize, which is dedicated to the winner of that specific Competition.

A HVNT Coin is the in-game currency which you can use to purchase additional Clues to help you find the Checkpoints in a competition or to pay an entry fee. When joining HVNT you will receive free coins for completing certain tutorials. Besides that, there are other ways for you to get more coins throughout the game. Coins are scattered all throughout the game, you can get them after completing checkpoints, completing Competitions, winning certain prizes, by inviting a friend to HVNT, and finally you can always purchase coins in the in-app Store for a small cost.

Clues are a vital piece of information to help you identify and locate the next Checkpoint you have to reach in a competition. There are several Clues available for each Checkpoint. The 1st clue you get is free and pretty difficult, while the remaining easier clue cost a certain amount of Coins to unlock. Remember that clues can be riddles, have double meanings, or be deceptive by nature. Some clues are maps or street-view photos of the checkpoint location. Choose carefully which one you want to unlock!

The Clues come in many different forms. As of now (Dec 2022) we offer the following types of clues:

Text Clue
A written hint about the Checkpoint. Text Clues often either describe the location or tells you about something specific about that location, maybe an event that took place a long time ago or a famous person (current or historic) who has a significant connection to this location.

Please check if you have enough Coins to purchase a Clue in a Competition. If you're unable to unlock a Clue after purchasing it, please use the in-game support chat in the menu to notify us about that. We will make sure to help you as soon as possible.

Checkpoints are a physical location that you have to find in order to progress in a Competition. Use your clues wisely to find the next location. You will have to find and visit all the Checkpoints in a specific Competition in order to complete it.

Once you're within a short distance from the Checkpoint, a golden circle will highlight the Checkpoint area on the map indicating that the Checkpoint is somewhere within that area. You will also get the notification that you can activate AR by pressing a button, which can only be accessed while you're within a Checkpoint area.

Once in AR (within the Checkpoint area), you will see a pulsating white dot in the middle of the screen. As you get closer to the Checkpoint, the dot and pulse will start pulsating faster. When you get very close to the Checkpoint (less than 10m), the HVNT golden V glyph will appear. Once you find it, point the phone in its direction until the white dot becomes green. Then tap on the HVNT symbol to collect it, or if it's your final checkpoint complete a challenge before collecting it.

If you are within the Checkpoint area, you should be able to enter AR. If the object doesn't spawn, you could wait 40 seconds until the text "Show Checkpoint" appears. When you press that button, the object will immediately spawn near you.
If the Checkpoint area didn't appear, please check all the clues again as they should be pointing to the same location. If you could still not find the checkpoint, please report it to our staff using the user support, we will investigate immediately.

In case that you are on the correct location, but for some reason you cannot physically reach the Checkpoint, please use the in-game support chat in the menu to notify us about that. We will make sure to help you as soon as possible and find proper compensation.

As a part of completing a final checkpoint or collecting a rare artefact, you'll have to complete a challenge. The challenges appear automatically and it's up to you to solve them. If you successfully complete a challenge, you will be rewarded with the final checkpoint or the rare artefact. If you can't successfully complete the Challenge, don't be alarmed, you will still be able to continue or try again.

Challenges come in different forms, and we are continuously working on implementing new and exciting Challenges, such as logical puzzles, interaction with objects in AR, objects recognition, secret language deciphering, and more.

Challenges currently have no time limit.  If you can't successfully complete the Challenge, don't be alarmed, you will still be able to continue playing or try again.

Both Checkpoints and Artefacts are randomly generated, calculating the route from your starting location. By giving everyone a route of the approximately same length and amount, all the players have the same chances to win.

Currently, there are several Competitions generally available in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö.

Different Competitions have different time limits. The time depends on the area, distance, number of checkpoints, and of course, the prize. Open World seasons also vary in length based on similar factors.

Certain rules may apply to certain Competitions, HVNT also requires everyone who participates in a Competition to be of the legal age required by law in your local area in order to win a prize. We do also ask all users to be kind and respectful to not only other users but also the general public who may not understand what you are doing and please also be respectful and aware of your surroundings at all times. Please see HVNT terms & conditions & disclaimers for more information. Beyond this, there are basically no strict rules. You are free to do what it takes to reach all the Checkpoints, collect artefacts, and find a treasure. If you're not certain about something feel free to check our Game Rules, search online, ask people around, etc.

All the Competitions have randomly generated Checkpoints, Challenges and routes, which leaves no option for anyone playing exactly the same HVNT twice or revealing the route/Checkpoint locations to anyone else. Also, all users who participate in the same Competition always have the same number of (randomly generated) Checkpoints and cover approximately the same distance.

Please be advised that HVNT is still under development, and we are continuously pushing new updates, we appreciate any and all feedback that you can provide to help us improve the product and we want to thank you for your patience in case something does not work as intended. In case you come across anything that sticks out, please use the in-game help option found in the menu to notify us about that. We will make sure to fix the issue soon as possible.

In the Competitions list, on the top of the screen there are categories. Among them you'll find completed Competitions. Also check the leaderboard screen to see your previous Season and Competition history summary/leaderboards.

In the sign in page there is an option "Forgot password?". If you tap there you will be redirected to the password reset page. If you're already logged in on some device and want to change the password, please log out first and go to the sign in page to follow the same procedure.

You can update your Email from the in-game menu. In the "Account" settings there is the option to update your Email.

As for updating the Phone number, the easiest way to do so is to open a new account using your new phone number and contact us at support@hvnt.com to connect your old account to the new Phone number.

If you think that your account has been hacked please contact us using the in game chat or via support@hvnt.com and one of our colleagues will help you as soon as possible.

In case you would like to delete your account, you can do so from the settings in the app. HVNT will keep your user data for 30 days after the fact, but if you wish for that to be removed immediately, please send a request to support@hvnt.com.

There are different kinds of prizes, depending on the Season and Competition. Easier/shorter Competitions/Seasons have prizes of a lower value, while more difficult/longer Seasons/Competitions usually have prizes of a higher value.

Whoever finishes a Competition with the highest number of points wins. Or whoever has collected the most artefacts at the end of an Open World season. To determine who wins a Competition we take a number of factors into consideration, primarily time between checkpoints, success rate in terms of challenges and overall time it took to complete the whole Competition. To maximize your chances of winning we recommend replaying a Competition after completing it.

If you're eligible for a prize, after finishing the Competition or at the end of a season, you will be notified with further instructions. If you have any questions, please email support@hvnt.com.

In a perfect world we would give every participant a prize, however we need to afford to keep the lights on in the office to keep HVNT going so only the user/users with the highest number of points or artefacts are eligible to win a prize. If you do not receive a notification or message after the Competition timer has run out or the season ended, you are unfortunately not the winner. But don't lose hope and remember to keep track of the leaderboards!

Majority of prizes are funded by HVNT directly or from the sponsorships and cooperation with other companies. However, we're planning to add some special Competitions with very valuable prizes which may also require participation fee in order to fund the prize.
